7. The Aftermath
The investigators try to cover up, though they are devastated
by the loss of their friend and they are physically and psychically worn-down
6. The Serpent Priest
Serpent People meets mankind, for the second time. Let's hope that this turns better out for mankind than the first time.
5. Within the fortress
The investigators do not immediately encounter guards but do soon stumble across a hideous and completely alien creature locked up in a cage. The investigators assumed that the creature is caged for a good reason and retreat. Penny is injured in the head in the retreat but is able to continue the investigation. Next the investigators find a tunnel that goes straight upwards and leads to a temple and a laboratory. It is something in the air, in the laboratory, damaging their lungs, but Doc manage to steal some plaques. Next they find the hub in the tower, the air shaft. The air shaft indicates the number of levels in this tower, but what is more interesting about the air shaft, is the two time gates in the base of the air shaft. The Investigators dare not enter that gates and discuss whether they should retreat and rest. They decide to go on. (The Keeper bullied them;-)
4. The Journey to the Tower
In the lab the investigators discover a drawing the the professor made of an strange, serpent like and ill-boding tower. The investigators surmise that the professor travelled there and pick their inventory before they go there themselves. The journey is event less, but closing up on the tower the see several strange markings on large rocks and suddenly the professor's tracks are accompanied with three more sets of large claw like tracks.
3. The time trap
Wherein the investigators discover that the professors lab is travelling in and out of present time, but discover this to late and are trapped in another time.
2. The train to Boston
Doc is late for the train and our friends must wait for the next. On the train, Charles is invited to a private carriage by a Russian noblewoman. Charles brings his friends, and to the men's delight the the Russian noblewoman is young and beautiful. Charles is charmed by this young woman, and the conversation takes a unwanted development, when Charles slips his tongue and talks about their mission. The countess, invites herself to join them, and is not opposed to this by other than Charles, who must yield. Then they were four.
1. Professor Garret M. Rhodes
Dr. Stuart Slade receives a visit from the head of the Scientific departments of the Miskatonic University. He asks Dr. Slade to investigate the silence from professor Garret M. Rhodes, who has a leave to concentrate on his study of various aspects of time.
Doc soon sense that something afoul might have taken place with the professor, and contacts his old friends from the Atwater case.
